8 Essential Science Practices
SP 1: Representations & Models

The using of 8 SP
After three weeks we always use and learn the 8sp in the physics class. The first SP we actually use it but we don’t realize it like when we do the coffee and milk experiment we actually use the coffee to represent the mechanism of cooling rate. In the SP2 are definitely very useful and common, when we do calculate the temperature of corpse. We need use the formula to calculate the temperature it is the progression for me very scientific and academic. The Sp3 questioning, before we do the experiment we will make an assumption or question for a physical phenomenon. The SP4 when we do the coffee experiment, we need to collect the date of decreeing degree of two coffees. After we did the experiment and we will get the data, then we can look at the date to think about the connection between temperature and milk. Sp6 as soon as I analyze the date we can identify the result connect to the physical knowledge. Sp7 after we did the experiment we might make some of mistakes cause the result not very accurate we can figure out how to make it perfect. Sp8 Finally we can use the concept just learn from the experiment and think about whether our life use or apply some technology basic on this knowledge.
I used to think do a experiment is very easy and convenient we only need to consider the security problem.
I used to think the formula is going to easy but now we learn the high level physical formula and it connect to the calculus.
I used to experiment is going to an individual activity but after the class it need work together as a team
I used to think high temperature liquid can keep the temperature more constant than the low temperature but in fact it is completely opposite.
I used to think the physics class will give us lots of homework and formula but right now I think it is ok for us.
